Progress Resumes in the New Year!
The contractor has been back on site and reaching significant milestones on the Illinois Route 7 Channelization Project.
In recent weeks, the contractor has completed all watermain improvements, miscellaneous storm sewer improvements, and completed emergency hot-mix asphalt patching of existing pavement failures.
The contractor is scheduled to begin pavement removal and excavation for the proposed roadway improvements the week of March 17th.
Work will take place on the:
All lanes of traffic will remain open. Please note that trucks and other equipment vehicles will be traveling in and out of the site.
The map below shows where work will be taking place. Please use caution when traveling through the area.

- Eastern side of IL-Route 7 South of 7th Street
