About the Project

The City of Lockport is activating the Illinois Route 7 Channelization project to decrease traffic congestion, increase safety and maximize corridor connectivity.

​Currently, this area includes a two-lane road with shoulders, resulting in traffic backups from frequent left turns across traffic. The project will include installing a multidirectional turn lane to improve safety and traffic flow throughout the corridor
